Last night I made healthy Turkey burgers.
1lb extra lean ground turkey
1 granny smith apple (peeled)
1 stalk celery
1 green onion (if you want)
2 table spoons of Major Grey’s Chutney (pureed) I also buy the non spicy one
Dice apple, celery and onion, toss in a fry pan with a shot of extra virgin olive oil. Season with some salt, pepper and garlic. Just a slight brown so they have a lot of crunch left.
When cool add to the ground turkey with the chutney-mix well, form patties ( I get about 6 per pound) set on a tray and let set for two hours in the fridge. Before cooking season each pattie to taste on both sides.
You can grill them or cook them about 5 minutes on each side. Buns optional. You can have a sorts of fun with the toppings.
They are full of good protein and carbs and taste great cold on a salad the next day.
