First things first:
My goal this week was to meet or talk with a life coach, nutritionist and personal trainer. I was also going to slowly start a morning Hatha Yoga practice, have an extra daily walk as well as up the mileage. Mon, Wed, Fri, was to be my strength training days as well as my high cardio days.
I also thought it would be a good idea to meet with some of my “fitters” as I call them and see what they do to stay on top of it. I know, I sound so productive and like I am all over it. Here is how the week went.
I walked everyday as I always do; the dog never lets me forget. We stayed with our normal routine of 2 miles; we could both walk this in our sleep. As a matter of fact I could unleash the dog (I have) and she will walk the whole path back to the car. Change is in the air.
I didn’t bother, not one time to have that extra walk. No excuses- just didn’t do it!
I did manage one downward facing dog as it feels good when you have a sore back or hips from sitting all day contemplating all these great exercises you could do. Unfortunately, that wasn’t enough to constitute the beginning of a yoga routine. Go figure…
I spoke with two out of three of the professionals and am still waiting a return call on the other.
I did lift my weights, but it was to move them so I could dust and vacuum that corner. Again, it just doesn’t count. Since we have a fairly large house with stairs I feel that to some degree I got my cardio in as I run up and down the stairs all the time, breathless.
I was told it would be a good idea to eat six mini meals a day, I can barley remember to eat until I am a shaking mess, so I am not sure on that plan. I will get more details next week. I am not getting enough protein, I knew that.
I am good with the supplements, but bad with the consistency in eating. If I am that inconsistent why am I not 102 pounds? Why is it my friend that is 102 pounds can eat 3000 calories for lunch, have a dessert and then dinner and not gain a pound? That just seems unfair.
One of my “Fitters” claims she stays lean and healthy by having regular coffee colonics (I personally prefer to drink my latte thank you!). She also swears off all bread products and eats a lot of cow, lamb, and more cow. Skinny maybe, but how is that cholesterol looking girly?
My other has three kids and runs 4 times a week. She says that is more than enough. She eats only organic and nothing processed and mostly from her car in between activities.
The last one just has always had a healthy attitude and swears it starts with a good mind set. She plans her meals out weekly, has snacks on hand, gets 30 minutes or more of exercise a week, drinks loads of water and gets a full 7 hours of sleep.
If you ask me, it is a great deal of genetics. I will now forge ahead once again with really great intentions looking forward to Fresh Monday and what the goals will be for the coming week. I may not always follow though, but I NEVER give up.
Advice and tips are always welcome.
