Here I sit at the start of another Fresh Monday, and all I can think about is the damage I did these last four days. I am not one to find excuses on why I ate like crap, but, I have one, my hormones. I know most women can relate. The sugar cravings once a month could send a girl into a carb induced coma.
I woke up this morning and hopped (slowly) to my protein shake within the first 30 minutes of waking. Although I am still craving the bad food and some sugar, I will move ahead and force myself to eat as clean as I can this week. I had been doing relatively well and had forgotten how good the bad tasted.
I am still not sure what balance I will find, but am looking forward to some of the new things I am going to try.
This week I am going to sit for 5 minutes a day in silence and to try and bring myself to center. I am still not sure what that really means, but I am up to any new challenge. Every time your mind wonders (and mine is that of a great wonderer with 4 lanes of traffic in need of traffic control, so, can you see the challenge?) you then bring it back to the quiet place or whatever you have chosen to focus on. I see this being a bigger challenge than eating clean -since I am a chronic thought processor.
I have found some great healthy recipes and think I may start posting some of them. I will commit to a 7 minute a day stretch, moving on to 15 minutes a day at some point.
Since I am also a chronic worrier (not warrior) with an anxiety disorder I was told to try Natural Calm, by Natural Vitality. It is a magnesium powder that you drink like tea and is said to do wonders for sleep as well as anxiety, and get this, it is also good for your muscles and heart and other things. www.petergillham.com

It is the little things that we don’t think about that can make the biggest difference in our lives, like: eating a bit more fiber daily, or more green vegetables, an extra glass of water or a 7 minute daily stretch, all of which we have time for, but just find excuses not to.

I don’t want to focus on the scale as much this week. I plan to focus more on getting back to eating 5 meals a day, adding water and some of the things listed above. We are going to be having record breaking warm weather, and I will be taking great advantage of it as I have been these last few days already.
I do hope to see some positive results scale wise all the same.
